The day started with our Scottish FT Manager - David Penman leading the charge with an outstanding 39 in the opening group,
only missing a 40yrd stander placing SARPA as leaders from the start.
Group 2 and 3 followed with Robbie Black and Alan Chambers posting an excellent 37 and 36 respectively
Our AA Shooters got us off to a great start and SARPA had now consolodated 1st place after 3 groups.
Groups 4 and 5 were next with Graham Easton posting a 34 which was AA class and Graham Adley ever consistant with a 32.
Next was myself in group 6 posting a 27, disapointed not to reach my target 30 but happy I had shot above my grade.
In Group 7 was Paul Ekins who was having some major scope problems and after a disapointing first few targets pulled off a 28.
After 7 rounds SARPA were now lying 7th out of the 9 regions.
Group 8 was next with Guy Sidey our B Grade shooter pulling off a "Giant" of a score 36 - placing SARPA back up to 2nd Place.
Group 9 followed Lilias Davie posting a 29 which was above her grade and put valuable points on the leader board.
In our final Group 10 we had AA Shot Trevor Davie who finished with a respectible 33 which when posted put-
SARPA back as 1st Place Leaders after 10 Rounds - A loud cheer broke out from the other regions assembled at the digital score board
and a few photos were taken next to it by the Scottish Field Target Team.
"Should have Quit while we're Ahead!!!"
With a Team of only 10 when it was best 10 scores from 15 was always going to make it difficult for the Scottish Team and as
the day rolled on with the other Regions posting their extra 5 scores we slowly dropped from 1st to 7th place
which for a small team of AA, A, B and C Grade Shots I hope you agree did our Region and Country proud
Congratulations to the Midlands Field Target Association (MFTA) who were this years Winners.
Yours in Sport,
Ian Horne
SARPA FT/HFT Match Secretary
